The curriculum spans seven modules covering the full spectrum of human resource management. These include Basics of HRM covering recruitment, performance management, and compensation; Organisational Behaviour and Leadership in the Digital Age; Talent Management including competency mapping and coaching; Strategic HRM; General Management for HR covering finance basics, data science, and marketing concepts applied to HR; HR Analytics and AI covering Generative AI use cases, agentic AI for HR, and human-AI collaboration; and Emerging Trends in HRM covering DEI, cross-cultural HRM, psychometrics, and ESG. The curriculum is designed to address both the micro and macro dimensions of people management.

In addition, participants are expected to allocate time for assignments, group projects, and pre-reading, bringing the typical weekly commitment to around five to six hours. Session recordings are available for up to seven days after each session for revision purposes.

No. An HR background is not a prerequisite for the Executive Programme in Human Resource Management. The programme explicitly welcomes line managers, business leaders, and professionals from non-HR functions who manage people or work alongside HR teams. Past participants have included professionals from finance, operations, sales, and consulting backgrounds who used the programme to build structured people management capabilities and transition into more strategic roles.

While IIM Calcutta and Emeritus do not guarantee job placement or career progression, the programme is designed to equip participants for senior people management roles. Past participants have reported greater confidence in contributing to business strategy, stronger capability in HR analytics and workforce planning, and improved effectiveness in talent management and leadership roles. The IIM Calcutta Executive Education Alumni Status also opens access to a professional network across industries, which participants frequently cite as a long-term career asset.

For HR professionals looking to move from operational execution to strategic HR leadership, the EPHRM offers a structured, IIM Calcutta-certified pathway to close that gap. The programme's strength lies in its combination of rigorous academic content from one of India's top-ranked business schools, the practical relevance of its curriculum including HR Analytics, Generative AI in HR, DEI, and Strategic HRM, and the peer learning opportunity within a diverse cross-industry cohort. Participants consistently rate the faculty quality and real-world applicability of the programme as its standout strengths.
